Tyler Golden joins the HIU Athletic Training staff as a full-time member for the 2017-18 academic year after serving with the Royals in a part-time roll during the 2016-17 year. Golden is a former Royal who competed for HIU men’s soccer and was a an NCCAA All-American goalkeeper for Royals, helping HIU to a pair of NCCAA National Tournament appearances on the pitch.

Off the turf, Golden completed his B.S. in Kinesiology in 2014 at CSU Fullerton and went on to complete his M.S. in Athletic Training at Weber State (UT) in 2016 – Golden’s capstone project focused on music genres and their effects on athlete performance. Additionally, Golden interned with the Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer (MLS) during the club’s 2015 season and was a part of the club’s best regular-season finish while on staff.

Golden has worked primarily with men’s soccer, basketball, and baseball at HIU during 2016-17. He is a Fullerton, CA resident and attends St. Ireaneus Catholic Church in Cypress, CA.
