Fullerton, CA- Despite the lopsided final score of 4-0, Hope International played a phenomenal first half against #8 Westmont on Saturday. Playing shorthanded in triple degree temperatures caused the Royals to eventually wear down against the constant rotation of Westmont subs.
El Cajon, CA- On Wednesday, Hope International had five chances to score but were unable to follow through (including hitting the post three times) as they lost 1-0 at San Diego Christian College. Sophomore Xochitl Sandoval and Freshman Vanessa Ruiz both had a shot on goal for the afternoon.
Fullerton, CA - Hope International had several opportunities but were only able to pull the trigger once as they lost 2-0 to Biola on Saturday. Senior Sofia Pacino had a big game with 12 saves.
Costa Mesa, CA- Hope International missed a couple of late chances but came up just short as they fell 1-0 at #10 Vanguard on Wednesday. Despite being outshot 21-9, the Royals almost made the most of their chances to tie the game.
San Bernardino, CA- On Thursday afternoon, the Royals could not fare against Cal State San Bernardino with a 0-1 loss. Senior Sofia Pacino had four saves for the game giving her 25 for the season so far.
Santa Ana, CA- On Wednesday night, Hope International used a six goal second half outburst to defeat Bethesda 8-0 at the Santa Ana Bowl. Juniors Brandi Neilan and Allyssa Stencil scored two goals apiece but the talk of the evening was the two HIU goalkeepers having a hand in two of the goals scored.
Fullerton, CA- On Monday, Junior Amanda Scheatzle earned the year's first GSAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor as announced by the Golden State Athletic Conference. The forward scored five goals with one assist in the three matches played by Hope International last week.
