COSTA MESA, CA – Hope International traveled to Vanguard University to take on the No. 5 Lions on Saturday, February 11 at 5:30 pm in The Pit. The Royals struggled to limit the Lions' offense and fell 82-40 in regulation on the road.
FULLERTON, CA – Hope International hosted another ranked NAIA opponent on Thursday, February 9 as No. 21 The Master's came to town for the second game of the season series. The Royals fought hard in the rematch and led for stretches in the opening half but ultimately dropped the season series with a 61-49 final score on their home hardwood.
SAN DIEGO, CA – Hope International is still looking for its first conference win after a second loss to San Diego Christian on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Grossmont College. The Royals were swept in the season series with the Hawks with the loss for the first time since the 2012-13 season – prior to this year's series the Royals were 6-0 against the Hawks after the 2012-13 season.
FULLERTON, CA – Hope International hosted William Jessup in the last game of a three-week home stretch that featured six games on the hardwood of the Darling Pavilion. The Royals jumped on top early but were unable to hang on down the stretch and ultimately fell by 12 at home against the Warriors.
FULLERTON, CA – Hope International hosted No. 3 Westmont on Saturday in the second-to-last game of a six-game home stand and suffered its second loss to the Warriors this season in regulation. The Royals never led and at the final buzzer, HIU took its eight GSAC loss of the season with a 26-78 final tally.
FULLERTON, CA – Hope International hosted No. 5 Vanguard in its third-straight home GSAC tilt on Saturday, January 21, at 5:30 in the Darling Pavilion. Olisa Horn (SR/Santa Ana, CA) was everywhere for HIU against the top-ranked Lions and willed her team to a halftime lead, but the Lions were able to overcome the deficit for a win in the second half.
FULLERTON, CA – Hope International hosted Menlo College on Thursday, January 19, in its sixth GSAC tilt of the season and squared off against an Oaks squad also searching for its first GSAC win of the season. Despite a good early showing from HIU, Menlo would go on to prevail in the Darling Pavilion and captured its first GSAC win at HIU with a 69-60 final.
