PHOENIX, AZ- With the score tied in the final seconds of the game, Marissa Rendon (SR/Carson, CA) finished her second free-throw to snag the 80-79 win for Hope International against Arizona Christian on Tuesday. Up by 14 points late in the third period, HIU almost gave away their advantage as ACU put up a fight in the second half. Four Royals scored in the double figures, but Nikki Andaya (JR/Benicia, CA) came out on top with a tremendous game of 20 points, shooting 7-10 from the field and 4-5 from behind the arc.

COSTA, MESA CA- The Hope International Royals faced a tough shooting night as they surrendered their fifth game in conference play to the Vanguard University Lions with 63-42 as the final tally. Alexis Perry (SR/Cerritos, CA) led the Royals in scoring with 12 points and seven boards.

FULLERTON, CA- The Hope International Royals suffered a 61-54 loss on Thursday evening after allowing #16 The Master's College Mustangs to take control in the final stretch. Alexis Perry (SR/Cerritos, CA) was the top scorer for the Royals with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Cheyenne Ball (JR/Corona, CA) produced 12 points and six rebounds, while Talor Hixon (SR/Carson, CA) ended the game with her second double-double in a row with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

EL CAJON, CA- In their third conference game on Saturday Jan. 9 the Hope International Royals used their solid defense to take down the San Diego Christian Hawks 61-47. Alexis Perry (SR/Cerritos, CA) led the Royals in scoring with 15 points, while Marissa Rendon (SR/Carson, CA) ended with 13 points. Taylor Hixon had a successful night producing a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

FULLERTON, CA- After leading nearly the entire game, the Hope International Royals surrendered to the William Jessup Warriors 63-56 in overtime on Thursday night. Cheyenne Ball (JR/Corona, CA) was one rebound shy of a double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Ashley-Carter Wafer ended the evening with 11 points, while Alexis Perry (SR/Cerritos, CA) finished with a career high 14 rebounds.

FULLERTON, CA- With six Royals scoring in double digits, the Hope International women's basketball team took down the Bethesda University Flames 96-64 on Saturday night in the Darling Pavilion. Marissa Rendon (SR/Carson, CA) led all scorers with 18 points while dishing out a career high of seven assists. Alexis Perry (SR/Cerritos, CA) was the second leading scorer with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Nikki Andaya (JR/Benicia, CA) followed with 15 points, while Talor Hixon and Emily Terwilliger (JR/Susanville, CA) ended the night with doubles in scoring and rebounding.

Women's Basketball - Wed, Dec. 30, 2015

Atherton, CA- Hope International gained a victory as they beat the UC Merced Bobcats 76-53 in their second game of the Peninsula Classic on Wednesday. After holding the Bobcats down to just seven points in the first period, the Royals also shot a notable 61.5% from the field. Marissa Rendon (SR/Carson, CA) led the Royals in scoring with 16 points, shooting 6-8 from the field while dishing out five assists. Nikki Andaya (JR/Benicia, CA) and Talor Hixon (SR/Carson, CA) each shared 14 points throughout the game.
