For Andrew Paine, 2012 marks his second season as the Head Coach of Women's Soccer at Hope International University. Basically an all new team featuring 19 new players allows Coach Paine to be very optimistic about the future of Hope International Women's Soccer.
In 2011, the Royals never played a match where they did not put a huge fight despite constantly being underdogs due to the number of available players on the team. The women finished 4-12 but nine of those losses were by two goals or less and they never lost by more than 3 goals. The highlight of the season was back-to-back 13-0 wins over Arizona Christian University and Bethesda University of California.
Back in 2010, Paine served as the Associate Head Coach for the HIU Women's program while working on an MBA at Hope International University.
Along with his coaching duties, Paine teaches as an Adjunct Professor in the Hope International University College of Business & Management.
Prior to his arrival at HIU, Paine spent five and half years as an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at George Fox University in Newberg, OR. As a coach he work very closing with the defense while also handling a large load of the administrative duties. With Paine's assistance, the NCAA Division III Bruins produced a record of a 43-51-5.
As a player, Paine spent his collegiate days playing for the Bruins from 2001-2004 where he was a four year defensive star. He was named Freshman of the Year in 2001. His junior season, he earned team captain honors.
Starting with his days as a college student, Paine has spent six of the last nine summers (including 2012) working with Uncharted Waters Sports Camps teaching soccer and helping teach bible and sports stories. The camps, geared toward 6-12 year olds, have sent Paine all over the continental United States (Texas, South Carolina, Colorado, Oklahoma, and inter-city Los Angeles) as well as to Haiti and Thailand.
While working as a coach at George Fox, Paine worked as a Certified Public Accountant for Deloitte & Touche LLP.
Educationally, Paine earned a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management at Hope International University in 2011. He graduated from George Fox University in 2005 with a double Bachelors of Arts degree in Accounting and Business Finance.
Paine currently resides in Fullerton, CA, and is an active member of Rock Harbor Church also in Fullerton, CA.
