Former Assistant Coach Mark Dupuy was named the Interim Head Coach of Hope International Softball two games into their 2013 season.

Dupuy takes over the HIU softball program after serving the past two plus seasons as one of the Assistant Coaches.  In 2012, the Royals produced program highs in wins and runs scored.

As for Dupuy, in addition to coaching at Hope International, he has spent the last four years in travel ball as the Head Coach of the Artesia Punisher Gold Team.  The Punishers have finished 5^th and 13^th at the National Tournament under Dupuy’s tenure.  They also won a Surf City Tournament in the Gold Division.

Coach Dupuy found his love for coaching back in 1979 when he took over coaching his younger sister’s team.  He has been coaching at some youth level the majority of the time since the late 70’s.

Along with coaching, Coach Dupuy is the owner of Dupuy Construction which he started in 1989 and specializes in restaurant and hotel construction.  One of the projects he is currently working on is a Golden Corral Restaurant in Bellflower that will result in Dupuy becoming a business partner in the restaurant.

Coach Dupuy has been married to his wife Mary since 1985.  They have three children- Brianna (a current member of the HIU softball team), Nicholas, and Christian.  The Dupuys are members of the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Paramount.  Coach Dupuy assists with a church organization called Just Do Good which helps rebuild inner city homes, schools, and churches.
