Katie Landazuri was chosen as the Athlete of the Week for the third time in her career at HIU after piling up 29 kills last weekend in a pair of GSAC matches against The Master's and Westmont. Landazuri was also named the GSAC Attacker of the Week for her effort, which is now the fourth time she has received that honor in her career.

Landazuri led all players in a match at The Master's with 17 kills and went into the Westmont match nine kills shy of breaking the all-time record held by Alyson Lumley. Against Westmont, Landazuri again led all players with 12 kills and became the new leader for HIU in the third set against the Warriors. Landazuri tied and then broke the all-time kills record on consecutive swings and gave the Royals a 5-2 lead at the time in the third set against Westmont.

Landazuri set the new mark at 1160 career kills at the end of the match and will continue to break her own record for the rest of her senior campaign. HIU Athletics is proud to recognize Landazuri for her acheivement and plans to honor her in a pre-game ceremony on Oct. 11 when the Royals host St. Katherine at 7:00 pm.
