Fullerton, CA- For the third time in his career, Senior Jeremy Kilgore was named an NCCAA All-American as announced today by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Office.  Kilgore averaged 13.6 points in his final collegiate campaign to earn NCCAA Second Team All-America status.

Kilgore, from Corona, CA, closed out his career in style last week while playing in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men's Basketball National Championship Tournament.  In the two games played by Hope International, Kilgore averaged 27.5 points- a career high tying 28 points against Xavier (LA) and 27 points against St. Catharine (KY).  Those two point totals were his two highest point totals of the season.  His season ending average of 13.6 points ranks him ninth in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) and seventh in the NCCAA.

As for his career total of 1,849 points, Kilgore is the Hope International career leading scorer since HIU joined the GSAC in 1999-00.  His 55 point surge in the NAIA National Tournament moved Kilgore into sole possession of fifth place on the all-time HIU Men's Basketball scoring list dating back to their inaugural season in 1954-55.  Kilgore appeared in 130 of 131 games played by Hope International over the last four years with 126 starts.  The starts and appearances are HIU career highs in the GSAC years.

With all his offensive accolades, Kilgore biggest stamp on the HIU Men's Basketball program may be the fact that over the last 20 plus years he is one of just two players (fellow Senior Ryan Ebel being the other player) to have all four of his playing years end at a national tournament- the NCCAA National Tournament as a Freshman and Sophomore and the NAIA National Tournament as a Junior and Senior (the only two NAIA trips ever made by HIU Men's Basketball).

For Kilgore, he ran the NCCAA All-American gambit.  As a Freshman, he earned First Team All-America honors.  As a Junior, he was placed on the Honorable Mention All-America Team followed by his Second Team recognition today.

Head Coach Bill Czech commented, "Jeremy has been almost the perfect student athlete here at Hope International University.  He has been an exceptional student all five years.  He has been our hardest worker, always has a great attitude, and embraced the mission of our school to be a servant leader."

Congratulations Jeremy Kilgore on a stellar Hope International Men's Basketball career and your third All-American honor!
