SANTA BARBARA, CA – The Royals closed the regular season on the road today with a GSAC contest against #7 Westmont. The Warriors swept the Royals and kept HIU winless in GSAC.

Sabrina Miller (SR/Lancaster, CA), Chelsea Bollinger (SR/Riverside, CA), and Jaszmyn Hilbert each avoided the 6-0, 6-0 sweep by stealing a point apiece from their Warrior competitors across the net in singles play. Jessica Cornea (JR/Anaheim, CA), Haley Robles (FR/Yorba Linda, CA), and Celeste Chavez (FR/Whittier, CA) were each blanked and fell 6-0, 6-0.

The Royals performed better as units on the court in doubles play against the Warriors. Miller and Robles paired in doubles and finished their day with an 8-3 final tally as the most efficient HIU team.

Cornea and Bollinger put together an 8-2 performance against the Warriors in doubles play for HIU. Hilbert and Chavez managed to take one point from Westmont with an 8-1 final tally.

The Royals fall to 1-18 on the season and conclude their GSAC campaign 0-9 in the 2016 season. HIU will travel to Indian Wells, CA on April 19 for the GSAC Tournament and will face Biola in the opening match beginning at 10 AM.
