RIVERSIDE, CA- Hope International competed in the California Baptist Invitational on Saturday. The Royals fielded enough runners to post a team score for the second race of the 2015 season.

Siena Rivera (SO/Kingsburg, CA) led the Royals for the first time this season with a 24:51 final mark. Taylor Butler (SO/Chino, CA), the usual leader for the Royals, finished seconds behind with a 25:10 finish as the 30th of 51 runners.

Janna Langrell (SR/Pomona, CA) posted a 26:30 time as the third Royals runner to cross the line and Karen Ayala finished with a 27:00 mark. Ronda Ackley (JR/Hemet, CA) was the final Royal to cross the finish line at the 27:33 mark.

"This was our first time at the CBU Invitational and the women's first time running the 6K. It was a good experience to be out there with mostly NCAA Division II teams," said head coach Jaime Winslow. "Siena Rivera had a great race leading our team. I'm proud of everyone for their effort today."

The Royals will take short hiatus before returning to action in the NAIA West Coast Jamboree hosted by Biola at Irvine Regional Park on Oct. 24.
