Cheer Team Mission

The HIU cheer team works to enhance school pride and the overall athletic experience for students and fans. We strive to support all athletic teams and build a sense of community amongst the student body.

Cheerleaders learn a variety of dance routines and cheers to perform during sporting events at Hope. The cheer squad practices three times a week and conditions three times per week.

Those who are interested in participating should reach out to coach Jennifer Maletto via email at [email protected].

Originally from Maryland, Coach Maletto was trained by master instructors in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Tap. Throughout her youth, she performed nationally and internationally. She attended Towson University where she continued her training and received a BFA in Dance Performance with a minor in Business Administration.

While in college, Coach Maletto danced for four years on the 17-time national champion Towson University Dance Team and was team captain for one year. After graduating, Maletto moved to Tokyo, Japan where she worked as an aerialist in "Mystic Rhythms" at the Tokyo Disney Resort. Now residing in Orange County, she performs daily in the stage show "Mickey and the Magical Map" at the Disneyland Resort and is working towards her Masters in Education.
